We are a small, specialist construction company with a strong heritage focus, built on quality workmanship, traditional values, and an in-depth understanding of sensitive and historic environments.

 

Grounded in excavation and groundworks, and supported by a family history in property development, we offer a complete service from breaking ground through to final completion. Our work spans both the commercial and domestic sectors, with particular strength in projects where care, restraint, and technical expertise are essential.

 

We are experienced providers of solutions from early design coordination through to final finish. Our core capabilities include piling, groundworks, foundations, extensions, new builds, landscaping, equestrian construction, and specialist civil engineering works — all delivered with close attention to detail and a deep respect for the fabric of existing structures and landscapes.

 

We are proud to be specialist contractors working predominantly for the National Trust, alongside other charities and major land-holding organisations. Much of our work is carried out across the Peak District and surrounding areas, within some of the region’s most sensitive historic buildings, estates, and landscapes. We understand the responsibility that comes with working in these environments and take great care to preserve character, materials, and setting while delivering robust, well-considered solutions.

 

Our approach is practical, thoughtful, and conservation-led. We work collaboratively with clients, consultants, and estates teams to ensure interventions are appropriate, durable, and sympathetic — balancing modern requirements with the long-term protection of heritage assets.

 

Alongside our heritage work, we have extensive commercial experience within heavy industry, delivering machine bases, press pits, reinforced foundations, concrete tanks, and infrastructure for production lines, as well as welfare and laboratory facilities. This background gives us the technical confidence to tackle complex ground and structural challenges, even within constrained or sensitive sites.

 

Domestically, we undertake a wide range of works including footings, drainage, landscaping, driveways, damp-proofing packages, full extensions, and complete new builds. We also carry out more civil-style projects such as retaining walls, river works, piling, concrete ring beams, fencing, and basements — often within historic or rural contexts.

 

In the equestrian sector, we work with both private and commercial clients to deliver manèges, arenas, stables, concrete yards, land drainage, fencing, and ongoing land and field maintenance, with particular attention to integration within the surrounding landscape.

 

Looking forward, we aim to expand further into ecological and wetland construction, helping to restore habitats, manage water sensitively, and create environments where wildlife and heritage landscapes can thrive together.
