Cressbrook Dale water feed for cattle trough

Working for the National Trust rangers we were tasked with supplying a new water trough so native breed cattle could be introduced to parts of the dale to help the ecology and control some of the dominant grasses. We took a feed from the yha site who are tenants of the trust and ran the new pipe in to the dale. The job was tricky given the hard limestone right to the surface in many places, we had to insulated the pipe and do our best to get as much depth as we could without too much noise and disturbance with hydraulic hammers. Access was also limited by the gardens to our smaller fleet of plant.
