The National Trust appointed us to replace 17 concrete columns in an Atcost concrete barn on one of their Tennant farms in the shadow of mamtor.
The columns had failed and the engineer had condemned the building, we removed the concrete columns utilising an excavator mounted concrete muncher and replaced them with galvanised steel columns.
We had to refix all the cattle handling systems and protect the steels and the cattle with timber and concrete stanchions.
Another tricky job we adapted to and got done efficiently and sadly working rd the Tennant and their stock animals.
5 of the columns were not accessible with our 5 ton excavator so we had to dismantle them manually utilising our small tracked scissor lift and genie lift. Cutting the columns down in chunks and then demolishing the remainder with our micro excavator.
The new columns where then installed with our genie lift. The concrete was all crushed on site and recycled into hard standing and the rebar recycled.
