The National Trust are committed to preserving these outlying barns that play such an important role it not only the iconic bucolic look of the edale valley but also their importance to wildlife and farming practices.
This barn was suffering from a lack of attention so we were brought in to:-
Emptying 3 feet of animal muck out of the barn
Rebuild and repoint failing stone work in lime mortar
Resin rod repairs to cracks and structural defects
Specialist Resin repairs to the oak trusses and roof timbers
All hampered by poor access only accessible to 4x4 or our range of tracked and wheeled dumpers. We were assisted throughout by the goats that had claimed this barn as there’s 🤣
