We were awarded the contract to undertake a designed flood protection plan at Bamford mill in the heart of the Peak District.
Working with the management company and designer and the owner of the affected apartment we installed a thorough and multi levelled flood prevention solution.
This took the form of altering existing drainage and downspouts, installing a 2500 sump tank and twin 3 inch vortex pumps into a 90mm hdpe rising main to move 18 litres a second out the sump tank into the adjacent river with EA approval.
The scope included tanking, raising the air bricks and installing new composite decking to raise the level and provide a useable and attractive outside space for the clients.
A challenging job being in a sunken courtyard and with restricted access through a tunnel into the mills yard, while allowing for multiple residents to maintain vehicular access.
Thankful we have the skills and machinery in house to deliver such projects trouble free and on time and budget.
The owner of the affected apartment took the opportunity while we were working there to landscape and modernise their lovely sunken courtyard with Millboard Limed oak composite decking. We transformed the area from a seldom used space to a modern bright sun trap that they and their family can enjoy for many years to come.
