We were brought in by a housing association to replace the surface in a playground original provided by the developers for the estate. The original surface of bark was inappropriate and held mud and water and made the play ground unusable for large period of the year.
We removed the sodden bark, we laid a geo textile and stone sub base, installed he tantalised edging boards and were given free reign on the design, we went for a mix of soft play surfaces around the equipment all complaint with fall from height regulations and artificial grass onto of a foam crashed layer.
The play ground was transformed into a great usable space for all the families of the estate.
